I was a huge fan of Raul Julia's after
seeing him on stage in "Dracula."
He and William Hurt work together beautifully is this sad
film. Mr. Hurt received the Academy Award for his
performance. The film, the director, Hector
Babenco, and the screenwriter, Leonard
Schrader, were also nominated (Out
of Africa received all three awards). I was so
hypnotized by Mr. Hurt's performance, I went back to the cinema to
see the film again a week later, dragging several of my friends
with me.
